FEATURED REGION & EVENTS

WE ARE THRILLED TO WELCOME YOU TO OUR NEXT STOP: THE REGION OF SARDINIA.

Sardinia is an enchanting island in the Mediterranean Sea, boasting a unique culinary tradition deeply rooted in its history and influenced by civilizations such as the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, and Spanish. The island is renowned for its diverse and delectable cuisine, featuring dishes like Pane Carasau, a thin and crisp flatbread, Culurgiones, handmade pasta filled with potato, cheese, and mint, and the famous Porceddu, a succulent roasted suckling pig. Sardinian cuisine also highlights specialties like Malloreddus, a ridged pasta served with a flavorful tomato and sausage sauce, and Bottarga, a delicacy made from salted and dried roe, often grated over pasta dishes.

Sardinia's winemaking tradition is equally impressive, with the island gaining recognition for its unique and high-quality wines. Among the notable varieties is Cannonau, a red wine made from the Grenache grape, celebrated for its full-bodied and robust character with notes of dark berries and spices. Vermentino, a crisp and refreshing white wine with citrus and floral notes, stands out as an excellent companion to seafood. Carignano del Sulcis, another prominent red wine, features a deep color, rich flavor, and velvety texture that pairs seamlessly with the hearty Sardinian cuisine. Nuragus, a light and fresh white wine with hints of floral and citrus notes, completes the diverse and flavorful array of wines that showcase the island's winemaking prowess. Exploring Sardinia's culinary and oenological delights offers a taste of its rich history and cultural influences.
